Lindsay M. Sabik, PhD

Associate Professor and Vice Chair for Research, Health Policy and Management, Graduate School of Public Health

Dr. Lindsay Sabik is Associate Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Health Policy and Management, a Member of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, and Director of the Workgroup on Cancer Health Services Research within the Health Policy Institute at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Sabik is a health economist and health services researcher focused on investigating how state and federal policies affect healthcare access, utilization, and health outcomes among low-income populations, with a particular focus on cancer care. Recent projects examining the role of state health policy in access to cancer screening, timely diagnosis, and treatment for underserved groups have been funded by the National Cancer Institute, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and the American Cancer Society. Dr. Sabik has also served as an investigator on a number of foundation-funded projects evaluating Medicaid policies and programs at the state and national levels and investigating issues related to the role of the healthcare safety net. She has a record of peer-reviewed publication in leading medical, economics, health policy, and health services journals. She is a member of AcademyHealth, the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management, the American Society of Health Economists,  the International Health Economics Association, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
